Yesterday I luckily stumbled across this site:

It has a large number of BRB diagrams for various stock which operated during the British Railways days including ex LMS steam locos, BR stock from Class 101s to APT. It also has LHCS, freight and engineering vehicles. Also included are Class 487 on the W&C and Class 485/486 (Ex-Standard Stock) on the Isle of Wight.

This site has a large range of official diagrams for GWR stock.

I guess that settles the old argument as to what type of train the Inter-City 125 is.

It's included in the DEMU vehicle diagram booklet.

Just to confuse the situation they are included in the Locomotive Hauled Trains Module of the Rule Book, TW3, but listed as class 253/254 in module SP (Speeds)

And in the Sectional Appendix Route Clearance tables the Western Sectional Appendix has them class 253/254 in the Diesel Multiple Unit Table while the London North Eastern Sectional Appendix puts the Class 43 power cars in the Locomotive tables and the mk3s in the Rolling Stock Tables. However the LNW Sectional Appendix comes along with a section titled: CLASS 43 LOCOMOTIVES (CLASSES 253 AND 254 TRAINS) TRAINS WORKING ON ONE ENGINE ONLY.

Clear as mud!!!

I sometimes think that their classification is purposefully ambiguous. As if maybe the project team realised that they could best meet their aims if 125s were classified and given permissions on a "pick and mix" basis.
