Default Tesco Trains

I have searched, for this thread, before posting. There doesn't seem to be one previously. I saw a Tesco liveried container train at Birmingham New Street, earlier this year. Does anyone know where these trains run to/from? Thanks for any info.

Although this is the first I've heard of it a quick google has brang up a lot of pictures up in an image search. Very clever play on the livery. Says "less co 2" instead of "tesco". Suppose it must be the "tesco express"

I suppose if it made lots of stops it could be the... Tesco Metro!
(And if there was a lot to carry they could put on a Tesco Extra-Train!)
[/puns]

Asides from seeing one come from the WCML to the North London Line (click for pic) a couple of months yet I have no idea where they actually run from/to - apart from the information I was given which I captioned the picture - Daventry - Tilbury

Thankyou for that. On a general note, I don't find the search facility on RailUK Forums very user friendly. Maybe it's just me?

Me neither, hence I opened a separate tab and used google. Railuk threads normally show when appropriate on a google search.

66419 was ASDA liveried. I don't know if it still is? Got this info off RMWeb.

I'm pretty sure they go all the way up to Inverness - I think starting from Wembley or somewhere around there.

I thought it was Eddie stobart that does Tesco's rail haulage.
Iirc, I think they may run to euro central in Bellshill.
However, I may be wrong & if I am, could someone please correct me...

The TEsco trains are ran by Stobart rail arent they? The must come from DIRFT as they have a massive warehouse there but no idea where they go to.

the best way to search this site is go to google and enter <search term here> site:railforums.co.uk

DRS operate the Tesco trains. I think they just run from Daventry to Mossend and return. DBS also run a train with the Tesco containers daily, hauled by a class 92, I often see it in the Warrington/Wigan area as it makes it's way south to Rugby from Mossend.

Tesco trains also run through South Wales - well, Newport at least.

This week at Freightliner @ Tilbury ive seen a fair few Tesco liveried containers, i did'nt think Freightliner ran trains for Tesco so can i assume these were brand new containers being delivered to Stobarts by Freightliner... all the containers looked new?
