Default Nottingham - aviemore

Hey all. A friend Is of to avid more I Sunday, and I'm looking at itinerarys and tickets for her.

I have;

Leg 1 - Nottingham to Newark, using the 90 bus from Nottingham warren street stop, to right outside Newark northgate.

10:10 -> 11:00

Leg 2 - Newark to Edinburgh, using the 11:42 EC service directly.

Leg three has specified the chieftain with an hour to get some food at Edinburgh.

The return on the first of September has the morning southward chieftain, changing onto a EC service stopping at Newark, with the bus from Newark northgate to nottingham.

Does anyone have any thoughts or improvements on this itinery? If a super off peak return is used, (for £83.15).am i correct in thinking any trains will be valid these two days. (I'm thinking of possible delays to the bus, or changes of plans in the way back. And I don't want too heavy or complicated restrictions on the tickets, to reduce the chances of any problems.
