There aren't nearly enough 375/3s to take over from the SN 313s completely, and if they go from SE then the short formations that are solved by the 377/5s can't be resolved properly either.

Was the original plan for these to enter service with southern when ordered or were they always to be used on fcc /tl services in the short term?

They were ordered by Southern but for temp use one thameslink to help delivery Key-Out Put 0 which entailed peak Kent services to travel through the core & some Brighton-Bedfords to go 12 Car. They have the southern decor internally as they were destined to head back earlier than 2017 but delays in singing for the Class 700's forced Southern to order more Class 377's..

The next 377 will be making it's way from Lovers Walk to Ashford this morning: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K00969/2017/09/08/advanced

That now means 16/23 377/5 units are with Southeastern. Entry into service will be soon, once paper work is sorted.

Great stuff. Can't wait for Networkers to be boosted to make the commute better. Too many 4 and 6 car services in the peaks from Victoria, Cannon St and Charing X (4 is with train faults)

Where are they being stored. Ashford full time? And how did they sort out the funding for this which was put at £2 million for 20 plus extra trains?

As SE are now receiving more of these, will more drivers be doing a conversion course for them, or is that not necessary?

Im guessing that the only difference between these and 375s is the mitrac and the doo cameras which wont be needed. A simple paper brief will be enough.

I did understand that a separate traction course was necessary previously (presumably quite a short one for those who already sign 375s!). Has that been changed?

A separate traction conversion course is definitely needed.

Yesterday PM's 1F93 and this AM's 1F93 were both sub'd with Networkers. Are the 377s that normally run this over at Selhurt for some work or something?

There’s currently a lack of serviceable units. From Thursday the available fleet increases to 10 as 377509/521 return from modifications at Ramsgate

There are currently 7 units in use a day with only 8 units in total. WiFi mods are ongoing at Selhurst

Two 377/1s will join the Southeastern Fleet on top of 23x 377/5. Should be 377163 & 164
