Graduate Programs

Is there actually a TOC out there that has a graduate program to train driving or works with the apprenticeship scheme? Virign dont, London Midland dont (seem too). Hard to find :S.

IME, graduate programs tend to lead into managerial or control positions rather than staff roles such as drivers, etc. You'd be better off looking at apprenticeship schemes: LU have the Apprentice scheme: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/corporate/...s/apprentices/ and there are a few others out there as well, other TOCs have them to get you into the company.

I may have to work for the company 1st for a couple of years by the looks of it before i can get offered a job internally as a train driver.

If thats the case i'm going to try and be a guard for Virgin or London Midland or even East Midland Trains.

If you're interested in driving, some TOC's do advertise for trainee drivers from time to time. The hardest part is getting past the first sift because the response will be immense, but it is possible. Any questions, please ask.

As has been said, graduate programmes run by the TOC's usually lead into a management position rather than an operational one.

Regarding LU, Mojo mentioned, there is the apprenticeship scheme, for which you have to be 16 or 17 on the start date, (around September).
