Default East Lancs Railway.

East Lancs Railway, Sunday 8th January 2017.

A Sunday visit to the East Lancs Railway, as a life member and former volunteer, I`m still in touch with many friends from the railway, but rarely use my free passes, I was aware Standard 4 76084 was operating and wanted to ride behind her, having read her fascinating history. The locomotive was also a former member of the Lower Darwen stable, a depot I sadly only visited once before its closure in the late 60`s, but one I passed many times and glanced through the train window on regular family trips from Manchester, to visit my parents family in Blackburn in the 1950`s.

I also took the opportunity to both alight and board a train from the new Burrs Country Park station on the line. Class 33, 33109, Captain Bill Smith RNR, was operating a diesel service on the visit.

76084, the full story here, http://www.standard4.com/br_service.html
