Default 180101 damage

Currently onboard Hull Trains' 180101 (GC hire in) and noticed when boarding that there was quite a bit of damage to the bodywork at the very rear of the train, with two large holes! The train was late arriving into Hull but left ontime. Does anybody know what happened?
