Default Bite Card Refusal

Don't know if this is the correct part of the forum to be putting this, but I was at Glasgow Central on saturday and had a meal from Burger King in the station.

I flashed my (shiny new whole) bite card, but received no discount.

Have burger king stopped accepting bite cards or are they just not accepting them at Glasgow Central?

AFAIK the only station Burger King outlet that doesn't accept them is at Marylebone in London. Could they possibly have missed your card?

Did you ask them? Maybe they just forgot to push the button.

Do you mean they actually told you "no you can't use that" or do you mean that they didn't apply the discount (which I assume you'd detect by looking at the receipt)?

Manchester Piccadilly - Five staff went up for coffees, one bite card, 20% off.

They gave the discount, but charged for SIX coffees.

Asking on a forum won't give you as good an answer as asking the people serving.

I've been to the BKs at Kings Cross, Leeds and Manchester Piccadilly and got the discount at all of them.

If its a franchise may depend on the franchisee. I formerly worked for a national chain that was franchised, and we didn't do some offers that were advertised but did others the franchise chose that wasn't nationwide.

I've used my Bite card at Burger King outlets at Manchester Piccadilly, Paddington, Euston, Birmingham New Street and possibly other places too without issue. The £1.42 or so saving on a supersize meal is quite significant!

I suspect it's down to a staff training issue, and to be honest unless you know, there's nowt to say they accept Bite cards in the branches I go to at least.

I've used the traditional paper BITE card at Euston, Manchester Piccadilly, Sheffield and Glasgow Central before with no issues, I think it may be down to either staff training or similar.

You can eat a Supersize meal? A Medium meal at BK is usually enough to do me for the evening!

Caspian UK Ltd own the Marlybone Branch. They no longer give any discounts out at all, staff don't even get discount.

The only discounts they now give out, is from the vouchers they give out with meals from time to time.

I used to work for the franchise, and they are as tight as they get

I was in a rush for my train and didn't check my change or receipt until I was on my train, bloody queues at the barriers for the football fans after the cup final (and yes, I was one of them lol, supporting my other half's team)

I guess I should have known as they didn't swipe my card, as someone further up has said, it was the first time I'd used the new card
