Default Victoria Coach station 75th anniversary 10/11th March

from http://www.skylineaviation.co.uk/buses/events.html

The weekend of 10-11 March 2007 is the 75th anniversary of the commencement of services into Victoria Coach Station by "London Coastal Coaches". The modern Victoria Coach Station Ltd. will be commemorating this milestone by inviting owners of appropriate classic coaches to participate in a special event over that weekend. The London Transport Museum has commissioned some 'specialist' merchandise for the occasion, and VCS hope to lay on some catering and other 'entertainment'. It will also be an opportunity to view the plans for the proposed new coach station to be constructed on the site over the next few years

Anyone know anything else about this?

Yaaay...the anniversary of a coach station...woo hoo...I can't contain my 'excitement'...

Not meaning to offend coach station fans, but I'd prefer it if we were talking about a railway station.

Now now...there were some truly superb bus and coach stations, and some incredibly complex interchange arrangements possible in the "good old days...". I myself experienced Cheltenham, where, every day in the summer, coaches would arrive from around the UK at 1300... and depart at 1400... producing some amazing journey options (my own being Newcastle (Gallowgate Coach Station, 0700) to Boscastle (now famous for flood, arr 1900), via Durham (whose Bus Station is beng rebuilt at Beamish Museum), Birmingham (Digbeth?), Cheltenham, and Exeter (loads of early Atlanteans still in service).

eezypeazy

Is there any more information about the Durham bus station being rebuilt at Beamish? Never even knew about it.
