Default London Victoria Solari flap scripts

Just in case anyone is interested, I have created a Google Group which contains files showing what was printed on all of the Solari flaps on the main departure board at London Victoria (Central).

Visit http://groups.google.com/group/londo...l-solari-flaps

Thank you very much for that! I'm amazed that this has appeared 34 months after the boards were removed (and now there are no more - Liverpool St's will be gone at the end of the year ).

Boards at Charing Cross were removed at the end of July/start of August along with the replacement of Phil Sayer. LED displays like those at Victoria are now used.

A slight correction to my last post is that the boards at Liverpool Street are no longer displaying train information as of 0100 hours last Sunday, 9th September.

I have heard that there are boards still in use at Watford Junction - is this true? (I have never used the station entrance so I'm not sure).

Boards remain at Brighton turned the wrong way around, though, but you can still see them through the wire mesh.

Phil Sayer was only installed there for at least 6 months, before being replaced by that stupid SEMA woman, known by Me and Jordy as (Sarcastic) Sarah!

He was installed there end of last October/start of last November - and he lasted all of 9/10 months! It is outrageous how they replaced him with Sarah (especially so soon...)

Back on topic...

I have had a thorough look at the files and I would like to ask what date the information is from as I remember seeing other things on the Central flaps such as 'Please remain on this concourse' on the flap you call 'remark 2'. A picture of this can be found at http://www.wymann.info/EpsomDowns/pics/LV2003-2.JPG

Was there a major 'flap change' at Victoria in the year before they sadly disappeared?

Remember Birmingham New Street's flapper - the concourse seems too quiet without it these days!

Current boards on it's site take up a mere four screens, most of the support is now just an empty bar.

I remember now that the index sheets that I worked off to produce the flap files did not include the last lot of flap changes which, as you correctly point out, replaced the old 'Train Not Ready' with 'Please remain on this concourse' but apart from one or two other minor changes, the indicator was pretty much as you see it on my uploaded files at the end of its life. Unfortunately the last updated Solari index sheets were thrown in the Control Room bin by a rather efficient manager after we changed over to the current LED system! I have added a message to the Google Group home page explaining this.

Robert.

*runs to Watford Junction*

Thanks for confirming that - are they the same type as those used at Victoria and Charing Cross as shown in the picture on the Google Group?
