Default BVE4 how do I make the trains move

I have BVE 4 and several routes and trains installed I have no trouble operating the Uchibo line the trainruns great but when I go to the other routes I cannot get the train to move.
I take the EMG off and then start the engine if it is not already running then I wait for the gaurd to signal me to go and put into forward release the brake and put the power on and that is it nothing the engine does not rev up and I go nowhere.

YES! I have a minor victory! I am having my FAQ promoted!

I wish there was a way to make everyone read it, it would save a lot of time

Move reverser to nutral then forwards, then release the brake and hit the power
