Does anyone use DCC on their model layouts, I'm looking into fitting it on my new layout. But I'm not sure how it works and what I need.

The kit available from Bachmann looks pretty simple to use and might be your best bet. I would probably use that if I was still modelling. |

DCC can be very complex if you dont know what you are doing.
Best bet is get a book about it first, as for DCC you need Spotless track, and no short circuits, or else you'll blow a chip. You also need to re-wire some of yuor locos that arn't DCC ready. |

Keep us updated if you use DCC. I've had an idea for a layout I want to try and build using DCC if I can find the time, space and money. I might get the Digital Diesel Freight Set from Bachman and have a play around with it sometime.
