Default Free Tea for all Grand Central passengers

http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/...ers.5294418.jp

Standard-class passengers can claim a free hot drink from the buffet carriage when travelling on Grand Central train services until the end of July. Bit of Midland Mainline spirit there!

Typical, they never announced about this when i travelled south with GC this morning. I will ensure I get some on the way home on Sunday!

Before you all book tickets... Only available to those travelling all the way to/from London, not to those going between stations north of York. (ie, Thirsk - London yes, Thirsk - York no) No announcement is made on board, and if we remember we're supposed to tell the passengers when we do tickets if they are eligable...

Oh yeah, and you need a ticket as the ticket number is written down as evidence as only one free issue is permitted per journey. Anymore and you have to pay for them!

Is it just tea or are other drinks included? I'll be heading down to the buffet on Sunday eve...

maybe thats what theyre thinking. people wont drink hot tea and coffee so much in summer, so lets offer it free. then, suddenly, as autumn draws in, the free tea and coffee disappears, to be replaced by free chilled lemonade!

Free Tea?

I was thinking tea as in dinner rather than tea the hot drink.

Disappointed.
