Default RailUK awards 2009 - nominations

Hello and welcome to the fifth annual RailUK Awards!

Many of you may remember our forum "awards" from the past four years, in which members voted for memorable events from the year both on and off the forums. If you've never taken part before, we first ask for all members to make one nomination per category and then once nominations have closed, we take the top nominations per category and ask members to vote for their overall winner in each category, with one winner being declared for each category in January.

As it's the end of the social decade, we have added two extra categories for this year only which are based on news and events between 2000 and 2009. We want to know what you think are the best and worst things that have happened on the railways over the past ten years.

As in previous years, we will ask members for one nomination in each category. You don't have to nominate for each category - if you don't know what to put then leave the box blank.

The categories are: -
  1. TOC of the year - this can either be open access or franchised, passenger or freight
  2. Railtour of the year - open
  3. Railway related site of the year - no galleries, Fotopic or otherwise, but the site can include a gallery
  4. Gallery of the year - RailUK members only
  5. Best railway debut of the year - open
  6. Most disappointing event of the year - can be railtour, operations or general event
  7. Most surprising working - open
  8. Best railway media (TV or Radio) piece - must be on UK media
  9. Best station - must be on National Rail network
  10. Railway event of the year - open
  11. Railway journalist of the year - must have appeared in a UK railway magazine/journal
  12. Meet of the year - RailUK meets only
  13. Thread of the year - RailUK threads only
  14. Most disappointing event of the decade - the worst piece of news or thing that happened regarding the railways between 2000-2009
  15. Best event of the decade - the best piece of news or thing that happened regarding the railways between 2000-2009
Members are only allowed to nominate one item in each category, and please try and make your nomination all at once rather than submitting some parts one day, and the rest another! Also, if you can, please submit one nomination for every category. The final date for nominations shall be Sunday 20 December 2009 at 19.00.

Remember!
  • One nomination per category per member
  • All nominations must be made by Sunday 20 December at 19.00
  • Please submit your nominations at the same time
  • All nominations are anonymous to other members
  • Nominations must be sent through the online form - link below
  • You must be logged in at the time you complete the form (check the username box on the form)
Please click here to submit your nominations

When your submission has been successful you will be sent to a confirmation message.

If you have any problems, please send me a Private Message.
