Apart from Jake's corporate response during the pre-show, did anyone notice the few comments Brundle sneaked in about the deal during the race?

According to ESPN Bernie says that the BBC chose Sky instead Ch 4 or ITV as they are direct terrestrial rivals. It was not Bernie's choice.

Apparently Bernie's first choice was to have Ch 4 as sole broadcaster but they couldn't broadcast in 2012.

Back to the racing, great race and fantastic win by Jenson! Fantastic way to celebrate his 200th Grand Prix start.

I suspected that was the case so to increase their share of the races they do show.

Want to watch the full season for just £80ish? Buy a Free to Air Satellite dish & receiver from Maplin or similar store, align it to Astra 1 at 19.2E and tune to RTL. Every race live just brush up on your German for the commentary!

Some would stream it online for no extra cost, like many do for the footy! I would never do such a thing...

Don't panic - the commentators on today's race stated that the BBC will show "either extended highlights or more likely the full race deferred a few hours" for the 10 races they don't cover live.

At least that's what the Ceefax subtitles said...

So it will still be possible to watch the whole season on BBC; just that it won't all be live. As long as "extended highlights" don't edit out interesting stuff ( like Heidfeld's KERS batteries exploding! ) I don't see too much of a problem with that - as long as one can avoid hearing the results of the non-live races for a few hours!

Does RTL Luxembourg show F1? They have a live stream that is not blocked to the UK:

Alternatively, you could watch German or Swiss TV through a Swiss VPN:

although I'm not sure if this is legal.
