Im sure there is a Thistle hotel that you can see on the right hand side as you go into Euston.

The Thistle may let you have a fairly limited view, but the Ibis has a view of Euston's finest concrete walls.

When the hotel in the Shard London Bridge opens you'll probably be able to see every railway line within the M25.
http://the-shard.com/overview/ It would make a really good signalbox... |

Travelodge London Southwark is pretty good - you've got the Thameslink lines just south of Blackfriars crossing the Charing Cross - London Bridge lines. Incredibly busy - as long as you get a room on that side of the hotel!

So cool to get asleep and wake up with horns, flanges and train running noises...

There's a rude joke in there about going to bed with horn and flange, but I'm going to rise above it and merely hint.

I managed to sleep there just fine, although I admit I'm a fairly heavy sleeper...

The hotel next to Charing Cross (sorry, can't remember which) I seem to recall has windows overlooking the concoure (although it may just be from the restaurant or such)
I remember staying there and having breakfast and trying to work out why there were departure boards outside the window! |

I stayed at Travelodge Aldgate East last year. I had a view of c2c trains to and from Fenchurch Street station, and think I caught a glimpse of Docklands Light Rail trains too.

The Hilton Canary Wharf (the newer one located outside of the old South Quay station) has great views of the DLR
