I bow to your deep knowledge of certain arcane English words as the only example that I was able to trace of the word PORMINENT occured in a 1979 research paper on the development of acute Dystonia and Tardive Dyskinisia in Cebus monkeys.

Rood is an ancient word for religious Cross

It also plays host to a pretty good model railway show [DEMU in the town hall] as does Birmingham [Warley in the NEC]
