Map Size

Hi all,

I picked up one of the new London Connections map at Ashford on Wednesday with the official TfL map on one side and the general National Rail map on the other (cover here).

I was wondering what the dimensions of the map are as I would be interested at framing it for a blank wall. I don't need the far left 1/7 as this just has the cover. It seems to be pretty close to A2 but a little larger.

I assume that, as you say you have the map, you can measure it yourself, so I guess your question is about paper sizes.....

2A0 -- 1,189 x 1,682 mm -- 46.8 x 66.2 in
A0 -- 841 x 1,189 mm -- 33.1 x 46.8 in
A1 -- 594 x 841 mm -- 23.4 x 33.1 in
A2 -- 420 x 594 mm -- 16.5 x 23.4 in
A3 -- 297 x 420 mm -- 11.7 x 16.5 in
A4 -- 210 x 297 mm -- 8.3 x 11.7 in
A5 -- 148 x 210 mm -- 5.8 x 8.3 in
A6 -- 105 x 148 mm -- 4.1 x 5.8 in
A7 -- 74 x 105 mm -- 2.9 x 4.1 in

Thank you for those. I suppose I was asking if there was a standard to the size of railway maps such as this one or if anybody happened to know the precise measurements. ~~Plus perhaps a little laziness!~~

Well it appears to be (without left 1/7) almost perfectly, which means probably with my measurements, A2.

london & the South East extends to birmingham now, i see. Well, that should solve the eternel question of where the North begins, i suppose it would start at Wolverhampton now.

I picked up one of these maps too. By the ticket barriers there is a handy table with lots of leaflets
