Question, if staff member A worked for FCC and boarded a East Coast at 2300 on the Sunday night but the journey meant arriving at their destination early Monday morning at 0600 and a change was needed, would this be accepted by on board staff considering the journey started when the free travel was valid.

I'd say its the discretion of the guard on the second train - I assume you're going north on the 23:30 kx-leeds, kipping at doncaster, then going further north on 1s02 the following morning?

Many staff will be flexible towards colleagues, however it is imperative to ask the guard (in my view)

How do FCC staff passes work on East Coast? I didn't think they were valid?

All railway mate. Cambridge-Ely is a classic. So many staff, 3 operators everyone welcome reguardless of employer & 1st class if space is available.

Valid for work / commuting purposes only between Grantham (or Newark) and Kings Cross Monday to Friday

Valid on all East Coast coast services for leisure travel at weekends

Seems to be a better deal for FCC staff than East Coast staff then, I mean, apart from Cambridge, assuming EC get the same in reverse it doesn't seem like they'd miss out if it wasn't there :P

I believe it is possible for a FCC employee travelling from the Western Extremity of FGW to the Northern extremity of FSR for free if they wanted to, using a combination of First Boxes they receive and EC weekend free travel. It would mean a walk between Paddington and Kings Cross however!

But a FCC employee wouldn't need to walk as they get discounted travel on LUL services, I for one certainly would not walk when I can use the Underground.
