I know a few guys on it however I couldn't afford the fare when they booked, so a chasing session might take place for me :)

No, that's the UK Railtours times for tomorrow, the times for the "Coal Grinder" are in "table 38's" post - surprised that they are available so far in advance :o

Aye, I am too. My link was actually for the tour mentioned in the post above me for Acton Bridge tomorrow. I'll edit to post to show such.

Oops, my fault - didn't realise that "freelander" was after Saturday's times

I'll lob out some breakfast for you as we pass though, assuming that I haven't eaten it all (very likely)............. On second thoughts, perhaps a wave would be a better idea.

Generally, it's down to perseverance and using the right "magic incantation" in Open Train Times.

It was easy enough to find the outbound Coal Grinder/GCG tour by looking at Crewe in the Advanced Search on 24th March at ridiculous o'clock in the morning.

The return trip was a best guess by "incrementing" the headcode from 1Z37 to 1Z38.

However the bit in the middle (1Z66) was rather elusive; I think I just searched Llanelli or somewhere else I assumed the tour would run through until I found it.

Just wondering, does anyone know how long the stops are (if there is any) and what is the longest one? Just wondering this so we can get chips and drinks etc. :)

All stops aren't at stations, Tondu/CGC/Burrows/Cwmgrach/Jersey Marine, doubt there's much time at llanelli for chippys
