Yes you can call me stupid but I have somehow managed to loose the Tonbridge to Orpington files and therefore cannot re-upload the route to my site for download.

If anyone has it (routefiles AND objects) then please do get in touch!

Don't have the route files - but call me a cynic but I think loosing the virtual-rail.co.uk brand is a bad idea!

Hardly a brand name was it, and the URL still works...

Yeah, bad idea Damon.

You've now lost your Google Page rank, you also now have to be relisted in Google itself and that could take months for you to get back on in the top 100 search for BVE.

Yes Virtual-rail will be there and redirected but you'll now get blacklisted for mutiple domains so you wont appear in Google at all!

The other thing is you have no meta tags, which doesnt help the matter at all!

Not sure weather your bothered about search engine stuff, just trying to help.

Not much colour either??

Just an opinion from a professional webdesigner (it's my day job dont forget)

Virtual Rail *is* a well known household name to railway simulation enthusiasts. Just by redirecting, you may well be confusing a lot of people who may now just disappear.

As Zane has said, you have lost your pagerank by moving to Coxster.co.uk.

I never used meta tags on Virtual Rail and both Virtual Rail and Picture Rail each had multiple domains that worked in exactly the same way and they both appeared fine in Google. No-one ever made such a fuss when I did exactly the same thing with BVE Depot and Virtual Rail. I will look into these more closely though.

Yes, and this is my website ;) Some may say it matches my personality

just trying to help.
And I appricate that. If you have any more suggestions then I'd love to hear them.

At the end of the day it's my site and if you don't like it don't visit it - simple really.

Indeed, when i was first into BVE, Virtual Rail was at the top of my list for reference!

Anyway, back on topic - just uploading Tonbridge to Orpington now after an absense of about 9 months!

I agree with Tom. The Virtual Rail 'brand name' is quite familar with users of both MSTS and BVE and has been for years.

I like the design for the Coxster.co.uk but I still think you shouldn't of ditched the Virtual Rail title.

For anyone interested in the topic of this thread then it is now re-available.

As for the site comments they are very much appriciated but I won't be going back on my decision to change the name. I have taken on board comments to do with the design, colours etc and will see about doing something about them at some point.

Thanks again guys,

Same as that.

BTW ... sorry I couldn't help with the Tonbridge thing Damon. Glad to see you've got it now anyway.
