Plenty under construction then!

What might be useful, as the site is billed as Paignton Railway Centre, is a section containing a photographic survey of the railway around Paignton, focussing on buildings and operations rather than just the trains. Resources like that not only provide a historical record but are also invaluable to those who might be researching the area.

Looks great but you might want want to remove the spaces in the header as anyone with their browser text size set lower get the title nearer the left and anyone with it set higher get it extending over 2 lines, therefore they see half the banner image or the start of two banner images respectively. Also will you be changing thew picture pages to keep the design consistant throughout the site?

Yes, i will do that later. About the text i think i know what you mean, I'll have a look later.

Dennis, i have some old pages like that that are being updated and will go in the 'other section' then it does not clutter the menu, and when i want to delete a page i don't have to edit every single page!

Thanks for comments.

Having seen some of your previous photo, I think you have plenty of better pictures rather than that particular shot of Dawlish and a Voyager. :)

Other than that it's great! :)

Yeah, the photo at the top is crap ;)

Looking good so far. The only suggestions I would make would be to change the font on the photo pages and to get rid of the bold first letter thing, that's just my personal opinion though.

Photo pages will take too long. I might change the bold, if i get the time.

That pic is only there as it is at the right angle, I need a less zoomed shot. Hopefully i'll get one tomorrow.

By hand!

Updated them without the Bold.

CSS does look very difficult, although does 1 page of code define the whole website design?

Good, that's the best way to learn.

Updated them without the Bold.
Looks better IMO.

It's as difficult as you want to make it, stuff like changing the text style is pretty easy. Things like my website where the layout is all CSS becomes a bit more complex.

To set the font for a page, save the following to a text document called style.css or something:
Code:
body, p {
font-family: tahoma;
font-size: 12pt;
color: #000000;
}

Then in the head section of the HTML page add:
Code:
<style href="http://url/to/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen"/>

This would set all text within the <body> and <p> tags to black 12pt tahoma on the pages where's you've linked to that style sheet.

That is very basic CSS, but should be enough to show you how it works.

Class 50 in Light Blue Pullman? is that a real livery? or one that the preserved line has applied?

Tis actually Nanking Blue IIRC.
The centre painted 50.002 Superb into it to tarten it up basically cos the NSE underneath was looking a bit shabby!

From what I've heard the plans are to restore and cosmetically de-refurbish 50002 as D402 a lá 50044/D444 Exeter.

Would make more sence considering it is in Devon!

Your counter isn't very genuine is it - it updates itself on every page one person looks at!

:lol:

There are no rules for counters though ;)

And besides i don't usually link to index.htm, so the amount of hits wouldn't be reflected properly.
