Hey guys,

I have redesigned my website, making it look IMO much more attractive and professional. It s also easier to follow and is set out nicely.

www.bveroutes-trains.co.uk

May I especially thank David A for his excellent template, which was originally used on IBUTECH.com, and Dan Lewis for the top image.

No new downloads to go with it unfortunately, but some may follow shortly. :)

That looks hideous... :/

EDIT: Ok ok I'm told to change what I said...

There was nothing wrong with your old design IMO. I find this design an age to load on my current broadband connection (1mb static on DSL). Also the fact that it just screams old due to the grey. The red may have been a bit strong, but it was far more refreshing.

It took me a while to find the navigation links  Not only are they tiny but they are not in the left hand section where one would assume them to be. Overall I don't think it is a terrible design however I would probably make those links more noticeable and stop it stretching the page when not in a resolution of 1280*1024 or higher in a maximized window. The man in the photo looks shocked to have been taken a picture of - let alone be on a website  As for loading times they aren't too bad here 1MB NTL). Will your old photo site be returning?

It *is* easier to navigate, *but* the front page if far too wide.

I prefer our old layout personally, maybe you could have refreshed your old layout a bit.

I don't like the Banner and is obviously far too wide. Put the page 100% wide rather than a fixed pixel size.

Perhaps extra navigation on the left grey side bar? Seems a waste a space to me. :(

NTL don't do 1Mbit, they do 2, 4 & 10. You'll be upgraded to 4Mbit soon as they are rolling out 50Mbit... :o:o:o:o

Ah yes, I now see what you all mean about it being too wide. I designed the pages around my 1280x1024 resolution, so forgot that it would be too wide for 1024x768. How can I rectify this?

I like the colours, and think it is much more stylish.

Will your old photo site be returning?

Rix Rail Pix? It is still online, but I'm in two minds whether to keep it open. I don't know whether to upload all my pictures to my old photo site, or just some of my favs from each trip on BRT. I never seem to get any comments on RUK whenever I update my photo site, so it makes me wonder whether it's worth it...

Rich - RUK uses a series of CSS & tables in order to create the dynamic width.

It isn't really stylish... IMO you have lost what the site was all about by changing the design.

The logo looks smudged, which is un-usual, would look good if it wasn't. Too much grey!
Interesting picture but i would make it less tall, as you do really have two logos!

On a good note. The D stock looks cracking :)

Nice website design Rich. Love the new look, however, I have to agree that it looks too wide when viewed with 1024x768.

Edit: Ehm... Rich, is theres a reason why I am seeing this

"The able below has the links to the files you will require for the Harcroft to Scourenton line. You must download all the files below for the route to work."

on the Ongar page?

I used the Harcroft page for the Ongar page in oder to make them exactly the same. I'll get that changed ASAP.

As for the cab, Damon, I don't know. I asked Jimi permission and he gave it, so I assumed it was his. ;)

The D stock unrefurb cab is Dr Jimi. The refurb cab is Darren.

Good news for those operating in 1024x768 or below. The site has now been rectified, and has a width of 800px, so will fit most screens.

The only page that still remains mega wide is the homepage, but I'm working on that as we speek. :D

Hopefully you can all enjoy the site now that you can view it better! ;)

With the Richwell Network, you can only download the route files, the object & sound files download as Northern Heights files, not Richwell.

OK, that's now sorted. Cheers for the heads up on it mate...;)

BRT has decided to get into the festive spirit and put up some decorations, check them out...

On the Ongar and northen hights pages does it have to have
The following traction is required for the Epping to Ongar route. Please note that none of the trains listed below are productions of BRT. Please thank the authors of the traction separately.
so large? IMO it looks a little scruffy
