Just relax and make sure you buy a bop it for the reaction tests! I failed the group bourdon :o( but passed everything else. I fell into a false sense of security with the group bourdon and didn't concentrate! :os the reaction test is a real pig but I found that at stages it was easier to just keep calm and start where I could when it was goimg at light speed. The rules and regs. Was on glop application when I did it but its pretty much common sense and I found it useful to make notes on the scrap paper provided. And the mechanical comprehension was basically levers pulleys and pivots what I'd call gcse level mechanics (it was lucky I volunteer at a steam railway working with coupling rods and brake levers!! :o) ) just buy a bop it, concentrate and don't fret is my basic advice hope this helps.

Thank you for this

I have got a bop it and can now beat master level nearly every time I play it but the reactions test is giving me nightmares :|

The dots test I have just ordered lots in and will just keep doing them

How fast does it the reactions test go?

I was at DB Schenker yesterday and passed, further to what has been said make sure if you make the structured interview that you give good examples of things you have done in the past that are relevant to the train driver role

Can anyone shed any light on the reaction and coordination test (DTG) as well as the criterion based interview (CBI). The DB Shenker website says the interview assesses evidence in six key area's, does anyone know what these area's are, or are likely to be?

Bit nervous about the reaction test, am I right to presume we will be taken though it beforehand? Many thanks and good luck gents.

Cheers SkinnyDave,

If you keep your cool on the reaction test then you should be fine, on the first test it only starts getting fast near the end, if you make a mistake keep calm and carry on (dont under any circumstances panic). On the second test the machine goes at your pace but you still have to keep up a steady speed. You get plenty of opportunity to practice before the real test. Hope everything goes well

Best of luck

Hey Team,
Slightly different as I am going for a Train Manager position with East Midlands. Got through the first stage (presentation and Interview). Second stage is at DB Schenker Doncaster.

My question is how are the concentration, ticket selling/checking and verbal reasoning tests presented to you? On computer screen or paper. This is important to me as I have been using the computer based program to help prepare but I feel it would make a difference if it was paper based.

In addition the practice materials I have been given only use the SCAAT test and not the Group Bourdon. I hope this is the case at the assessment facility. Anyone able to confirm this.

Thanks in advance

I did the train drivers assessment there and the concentration test was Group Bourdon on paper, haven't done any of the others that you have mentioned. Hope this helps
