I've just a fight with one

He's pored water over my bed, so I did the same, he starts loosing it, grabs me by the throat and punches me in the face :boxing: , so I grab him by the throat and he backs off.

I could have got him the sack, but i saved his a*se and now he's going to throw in the towel

We even had a director down here to sort it all out.

Apprantly, punching a collegue isn't a sackable offence

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I think you need to calm down abit in general. ;)
I know Sultan and Collingwood are driving you up the wall, but you need to grin and bear it for the sake that in 4 months time, you'll be out on track doing proper work.
I'll text you the rest

LOL, I never fought back except grabbing his throat, that saved me.

One of the Residential Officers is ex-SAS, never seen someone move so fast.

He also had one 30kg+ rucksack on each shoulder, COMFORTABLY. That, and the fact he mentioned the Pen-Y-Fan so quickly is what gave it away. Nothing makes you feel safer than having an ex-SAS bloke between you and another lad who still wants to punch to ****s into you

For hand tools is it 6ft? I seem to rememember TheSlash talking about distances and that figure seems to ring a bell.

6ft 6in as far as I recall, but that kinda area anyway.
Always made me laugh that the railway requires tools to be that distance at any speed line where as staff can stand 4ft away at lower than 100mph speeds.Guess they value tools more than staff!:cyclopsa:

As for the OHLE one I think off hand it's 9ft,best check as I have a PTS recert coming up

6ft is your sub 100mph position of safety from the track.

Haven't got a PTS, but have got a fairly limited H&S briefing for working on a 25 mph line, hehe.

Ok just checked rule book:

0-100 mph =4ft
101-125mph=6ft 6in
125+ = 9ft

Minimum safe distance from OHLE is as I thought 9ft.

I thought 125mph + was 9ft and OHLE was 10ft :?: Only remembered for PTS recerts etc as i work with 100mph 3rd rail
Tools are 6'6" as they are more at risk from turbulance than people
A freightliner going over a rough ride at 75mph is scarier than an Express EMU going over it at 100mph

My rule book says 9ft,but I like to keep well away from the bloody things!:sad5:

Mind You all those distances obviously didnt apply in the Leominster area today. I came hurtling around the curve before Leominster station heading for cardiff on a semi fast in 175109 at 90mph,just over the crossing on the straight & round the curve & my line is covered in orange vests about 30-50 foot infront of me backs to me & looking at the track including the lookout! The only reason they are still alive is the fact I already had my hand on the horn already incase any passengers were messing about on the platforms (I was non stop through Leominster). Major loud blast on the horn & 175 slammed into full emergency brake & orange vested idiots diving for cover, the guard thought we had hit them all as all he saw out the back was pway rolling down the cess.

Bit of a serious near miss that left me shaking for a bit.:angry7:
