Hi,

Looking at booking Great Yarmouth to Sheffield on Friday 13th april returning on sunday 15th.

at thetrainline the 16.17 from great yarmouth arriving sheffield 20.18 (1 change at norwich) is priced £37. however red spotted hanky doesn't offer any journeys with 1 change and the ones it offers are more expensive (£47). exact same for return journey where tickets with 1 change at norwich are £30. what am i doing wrong??

Click 'more options' (under the To station in the form) and enter Avoid: 'Doncaster' on RedSpottedHanky and that should do it. Not sure why it happens though, perhaps somebody will know?

thanks that worked. poor design though. strange, who wants to pay more to change trains 3 times?

or.....

1617 Great Yarmouth to Norwich 1650
1650 Norwich to Sheffield 2028

So yes it would appear that it was offering you the fastest possible journey.

fair enough, that's logical i suppose but still flawed. i doubt anyone in their right mind would choose 3 changes to save 10 mins and pay more for the privilege in such a journey. must put a lot of people, myself included, off the site.
