A £30 million programme of improvements for railway stations has been announced by the Scottish Government.
The cash will go towards improving facilities at existing stations and could also fund the creation of new stations around the country.
Scottish ministers, local councils and regional transport bodies are contributing to the newly established Scottish Stations Investment Fund.
The funding was announced by Transport Minister Keith Brown on a visit to Alloa railway station which opened four years ago and has seen passenger numbers rise to around 400,000 per year.

Hopefully some of this is diverted towards Dundee.

"Dump" doesn't cover it.

(obligatory comment about that being the whole city, not just the station)

Been today, very, very impressed. Station pretty 'normal' though it'll be better when the roadworks are finished nearby.

Or the station :p Whoops I was beaten to it.

Seriously the station does not seem that bad when I've passed through to/from Leuchars. Bar opening hours are a bit erratic , and it has oldie worldie BR signage.

I find Dundee station to be perfectly adequate. OK, it may not be visually appealing from the road, but the old building at platform level is quite nice, plus you have a bar, cafe, two waiting rooms and a generously large booking office.

£30m probably doesn't go very far these days. One new station sign and a new light fitting. Maybe a poster board too, if they haggle.
