According to the latest RAIL the Folkestone Harbour line and station is under threat from closure because it is in the way of redevelopment. If it is closed I bet VSOE wouldnt be too happy as they have already left the Harbour station once but returned because they werent happy with alternative arrangements at one of the other Folkestone stations

In the Latest Todays Railways its says the last train will probably be the Blue Pullman on Thursday and that VSOE will use a new platform at Folkestone East Carriage Sidings

Shame the station is closing, just one of many stations at ports to do so in recent years, others including Newhaven Marine and Weymouth Quay

Anyone got any pics of Folkestone Harbour station?

Wasn't Newhaven Marine closed a just few weeks back as the station canopy was in danger of collapse. It did have regular services IIRC until then, they were just not advertised (quicker to walk anyway!).

When we did the Sussex Slammer we had this discussion and I think we decided that there was one train that left the Marine station in the small hours but no trains were advertised TO the station

Newhaven Harbour Jn - Newhaven Harbour [platform 3 = Marine platform] [12] WE N 1852 SSuX Newhaven Marine - Lewes [this unadvertised service "temporarily" suspended from Thursday 17 August 2006 until further notice because of the condition of the Marine platform roof]

Only ever visited it once, back in the late nineties - surprisingly it doesn't seem to have changed much in the intervening years and the shots I have look very similar to those in the third link (albeit with added missus :sad9: ).
Very sad pics. Shame its become a victim of the Channel Tunnel and Low Cost Airlines (which forced the withdrawal of the ferries and therefore the trains)

What London terminus did the boat trains use just before the service stopped, and what stations did they call at?
