G'day,

The latest edition of Railway Magazine has a picture of the above working but I'm wondering whether the caption should read Stoke on Trent? If I'm correct with my assumptions where in Stoke does the train run to?

Many thanks,

Richmond Commuter!

Thanks for your reply. Any ideas why it ran to Burton as I can't work out where the tanks would have been unloaded.

The wagons were empty. They have since been taken to Warrington and then further North

The train ran to Burton for operation reasons - the tanks were being
moved on behalf of DB who have brought them out of store to be used
on calcium carbonate traffic from Aberdeen to Workington.

The tanks are silver bullets that were stored at Burngullow after the Burngullow - Irvine (Caledonian Paper) clay slurry service ceased.

They were moved to Burton on behalf of their owner (not DBS) for overhaul prior to re-use
