Thanks for that. Any particular reason it is only on one run in either direction ?
Great ! You've almost read my mind. I saw it yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at seeing DBS 67 at the tail. Are Arriva DVT + DBS 67 liable to be booked on this diagram for the next few days / weeks ?
It sounds like you know better than me but I see the silver sets at least a couple of times a week and from my observations 67018 has been providing power for one of the Birmingham diagrams for the best part of 2012 to date; certainly between late January and the end of March. And it was a silver loco, 67014, on the Banbury commuter rake when I saw it just over a week ago. Unless it's all some sort of coincidence on my part!Very likely. Neither the stock nor locos tend to change very often, although they do tend to seem to like to keep the silver 67s available for Mainline services - last year 67 001 was on the Banbury turn from the beginning of February until mid-May, apart from when it was on inspection. This year 67 018 has spent most of the last few months on the diagram, barring inspections and a short period on the Birminghams when there was a shortage of serviceable silver locos - once that situation was rectified 018 was quickly switched back onto the Banbury turn.
They do try and keep the silver locos on the silver sets as far as is practicable, but yes, 67018 has been used on a silver set for the past few weeks.
The Arriva DVT is booked to be used on the Banbury set for a few months. It means the last non generator fitted DVT (82303) can go off for modifications.
Incidentally, the word is that blue DVT 82302 will be silver when it returns from generator modification.
No mark 3s to work with it, I think. Arriva seem to have the three DVTs and three 67s sorted, but nothing to go between them for the passengers to travel in.Why is the Arriva liveried DVT not working for Arriva on the WAG express then?

They will be soon from September, according to my sources. Some Mk3s are being prepped for it at the moment I believe.
I wonder if the current pair of mark 3 buffet cars for the WAG express will gain through-wiring to form part of the new sets. I guess there will probably be 3 buffet cars to go with the 3 DVTs, so the when the first new set arrives it could release one of the current buffets for through-wiring. That buffet would then return as part of the second set, and release the other current buffet so it could be fitted up to form part of the third set. Alternativly there could be three new buffets and the current ones would need a new home.
47812 brought some MK3s to Canton from Burton, originally Barrow Hill today, these were the ex Cargo-D First Class coaches, will these have something to do with the DVT situation?
I doubt it, they're all first class. I guess they could be intending to use them to form a rake for driver training but, if that's the case, why six?
