Virgin Trains are aware. I am informed that BTP have also been told.

Virgin are aware and have reported the matter to the relevant authorities. This is definitely a scam - please steer well, well clear.

Who by?

I'll admit it looks rather amateurish and I wouldn't use it but it's nice to have sources for this sort of thing.

WHOIS lists it as the owner not providing their information to the registrar, as they are a non-trading individual. If it isn't a scam then their domain name can be taken away from them as they are breaching the rules, and if it is a scam, then the site can be closed down. Either way, it'll be closed!

Apparently the company is based in "Steelwater Place", in Lancashire "L11".

Well, L11 is the Croxteth area of Liverpool! And Liverpool has certainly not been in Lancashire since 1974!

The problem is that this website WILL rip off the average consumer who just sees a plausible booking engine with headline prices and does not look beyond that!

123-reg have provided the domain but it is pointing to their own server at home on a static IP provided by the same ISP I use mainly BE

For anyone who's nosey. ;)

Good to see this thread already appearing as the top hit on Google when you search for "mtixit".

That should act as a good warning to others.

Depending on your browser/settings, it could be coming up top because you've already searched for mtixit - Google can change your results based on your search history. Different people get different results first for the same search!

No cookies, no search history. I like my anonymity!

Still top hit on google.com. #2 hit on google.co.uk

Liverpool, oh the irony, selling Manchester to London! And I suspect that the real-life location is bogus as well (steel water - get it?) ;)
