Hi, travelling from home (Enfield) to Gillingham, looking for the cheapest ticket option. Could someone help me with the boundary fares from zone 6 to Gillingham please?

Would this fare be valid on all services (including fast from St Pancras) or just the Victoria/Cannon St fares? Or is there separate fares for each like with the London Terminals to Gillingham ticket?

EDIT: Gillingham (Kent) I meant if that wasn't obvious.

Welcome to the forum.

If you are travelling via High Speed 1 (HS1) it will be more expensive. Travelcards are not valid via HS1 unless they are marked 'PLUS HIGH SPEED'. If you don't mind a slower journey then I would suggest London Cannon Street or London Victoria.

I can't find the Boundary Zone 6 fares, but Enfield Town, Enfield Lock or Enfield Chase to Gillingham Kent is £21.20 for an Anytime Day Single (SDS) which is valid via HS1, or £18.70 if you want to travel via London Victoria or London Cannon Street (NOT valid on HS1).

Gillingham trains don't go from Cannon Street (most of the time), they go from Charing Cross. Much better going from Victoria though because you can catch a train with much fewer stops.

It's a much nicer train too (imo): an electrostar (if you catch the Dover/Ramsgate train) instead of a networker .

Thanks for the responses. I was a bit confused before posting because when I searched "London to Gillingham" I saw the choice of fares according to whether you use the high-speed service, but searching "Enfield to Gillingham" I only saw one fare valid on all services. I've figured out now that the rail planner just showed the fastest journeys, if I force "via Victoria" I see the cheapest option.

I'm travelling day return on 20th May. My nearest station is Bush Hill Park but no trains on the Enfield Town line that day. A brisk walk to Enfield Chase in the morning will do me good but I'd rather have travelcard plus extension so I can take another route home in the evening if I feel like it.

I guess I can get the £9.10 extension mentioned? Plus £8.50 for travelcard that's the cheapest option anyway. A shame I can't jump on the high-speed from St Pancras after travelling Enfield Chase to Kings Cross (walking time Kings Cross to St Pancras 31 minutes according to planner ) but probably best option overall.

Thanks again for the assistance.

If your Travelcard is costing £8.50, the extension is £8.60.
