Just in case people didn't realise (which i did'nt) you can drive a diesel locomotive at Crewe Hertige Centre.

Fiver to drive a 03, and a tenner to drive whatever diesel they have got available that day, i think thats cool and im off to there next weekend to hopefully thrash a 37

Their website seems to indicate that (in their news section) Driver for a Fiver will not be available until further notice :-?

Does that mean that the resident 03 is bust?. Will have to check, and hope the tenner offer still runs, you cant thrash a diesel loco for less anywhere else.

For the same price I've done Quorn to Loughborough with the 47 at the GCR!

What 37 are you expecting to drive? Neither 108 or 683 which are based there are operational.

To be fair (regardless of which 37 isn't working) £5/£10 is a still a decent price for an experience that cant be bought in your local Tesco. I hope these guys make a few quid from these events. & i hope Ole Man likes a 73 instead :lol

As someone else pointed out there's only a couple of hundred yards of track so you won't be thrashing anything anywhere :)

I there is an 03 and a 73 there at the moment but I'm also pretty sure the driver for a fiver is only available later in the year or when there is an event on.

Erm nope i dont like 73's they are nowhere near the thrill of the noise of a 37, maybe i will have to wait until a 37 is fixed.
Can you go to the GCR anytime and drive a loco?
