If it's a locked axle, that sounds like the 2nd 150 this year that has suffered from a probable ceased bearing... (It's also really not an on site fix...)

On the train it was announced as a ceased axle.

It happened just north of Horsforth station.

On train staff did a good job of saying what happened and helping with connections

Yep, though this one is in arguably a worse place than the one that was stuck for weeks at Manchester whilst they pondered how to move it.

At least if it isn't stopped in a station, it may be a little easier to get skates on it though

After the cardan shaft incidents caused people to call for Pacers to be withdrawn, will we now see similar calls for 150s to be scrapped?

To be honest, the problem of ceasing bearings is proberbly pushing maintenance boundaries and can simply be solved by actually looking after the units properly.

(Not blaming Neville Hill or Newton Heath, but the chances are it is maintenance, potentially as a result of cuts from the top)

On the morning they did get the front of the train into the station and by the time of the 18:59 from Leeds all trains were running again.

Seems like it was sorted efficiently.

Seems like it was sorted efficiently.

They also manadged to keep an hourly service running, which again is good.
