Just be informed by my better half that due to major signal problems between Flitwick and Leagrave there is no service between Bedford and Luton until further notice. She is stuck at Bedford.

From National Rail;

A signalling problem is causing disruption between Leagrave and Harlington.

Because of this, there are delays of up to 60 minutes between London St Pancras International and Bedford. There is no current estimate for when a normal service will resume.

Buses have been requested to operate but there is no estimate for when these will be available.

Ticket acceptance
First Capital Connect passengers may use London Midland and First Capital Connect Great Northern services on any reasonable route.

FCC are holding things where they are (EDIT: Luton <-> Bedford both directions and all lines) until further notice. All signals are set to red on the affected section, apparently. Oops.

Makes a change from the TL Core, but I do feel sorry for everyone who's going to be affected - probably into the evening peak, too.

Good luck NR...

I believe some services may now be running again, but I have no idea how many, or what the actual delays are like, as the Live Departure Boards are getting confused.

FCC website:

Owing to signalling problems between Bedford and Luton all lines are blocked.
Impact:
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or revised at short notice. All stations between Luton and Bedford will not be served. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.
Customer Advice:
Due to a severe signalling fault between Bedford and Leagrave, there are currently no trains able to operate between Bedford and Luton until further notice.
All FCC services will be subject to delays and short notice alterations.
Passengers are strongly advised to use alternate routes where possible.
Due to the East Midlands Trains strike we are much busier than normal and passenger should expect heavy loadings on all services that are running.
Engineers are on site now trying to fix the fault now.
London Midland and First Capital Connect (Great Northern Route) services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for First Capital Connect (TL) rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.
Uno (between Hatfield & St Albans) bus and Arriva (between Hatfield & St Albans) bus services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
