I was looking at my seats that I have booked train plans and if the train is a HST me and my companion will not be sitting together but if it was a voyager we would be. How do I find out what type of train it would be ? It's a crosscountry service.

It would be 12.52pm Crosscountry train from Glasgow Central to Plymouth.

I will be returning on the 6.25am train from Plymouth to Glasgow Central.

I will be going on a tuesday and returning on a thursday.

Almost certainly Voyager, both ways. HST's only visit Glasgow Central once per day, the 1223 from Plymouth, arriving 2227, returning to Craigentinny ECS.

Glasgow to Plymouth and back on a Crosscountry voyager. I bet that will be fun!! It was bad enough for me travelling from Newcastle to Bristol and back 6 years ago.

Can you remember how much the ticket cost?

Around £450 (probably slightly less as I think the price went up recently) as I seem to recall that it was done as part of a 7 day ALR.

Also don't think you can evade the men in white coats for ever IanXC, they're still after you for that madness ;)

Hideously off topic really! I'm sorry I just couldn't resist!

I did indeed get it from York, was great the moment the booking clerk realised what I was asking for!

That is brilliant

Haha, great way to spend a day! It was a day of my 7 day ALR last year, with YP railcard fortunately! Before I rabbit on any further heres my trip report http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?p=798459#post798459

Hmm, so far so good though! Maybe they're looking for me on Voyagers. Maybe I should avoid from now on!
