Or a FTPE Cl170
Or a FTPE Cl170
Or you could go mad and travel via Doncaster and Selby using a 180 and HST or Cl.91+Mk4
There were a few Pacers kicking around in Hull though, although I am led to believe that 142's are less common there
Its quite often a 144 on a Monday but a 142 for the rest of the week
I'll never understand Northern and their diagrams
They are pretty unusual around our way pretty much only turning up on Sheffield - Hull/Beverly runs (and even then it's normally only one pacer on one diagram). They do sometimes go further but only on Hull - Bridlington services I don't think they ever do a full run on Sheffield - Bridlington (unless things have gone wrong).
As far as I am aware, they don't get further than Brid as I don't know of one turning up in Scarborough
Not the case, the majority of Scarborough - Hulls are worked by Northern Staff from Hull, only a few (especially early and late shifts starting / ending at Scarborough) are worked by Scarborough TPE. Hull TPE do not sign the coast
There is one working from Lincoln via Sheffield to Hull which is supposedly always booked a 14x. The rest will normally be 158s, but I have seen a 144 on a York - Hull when a 158 failed and they took it off the Harrogate loop train.
I think its because the 2 x 142 Tuesday to Friday come of the Newcastle to York ECS and on a Monday the 144 comes in on Sunday from somewhere else possibly Harrogate line
It comes off Harrogate line then goes up to.Heaton. from York at about 1910. The two 142s coming the other way come off the 2200 Newcastle - Darlington then forward as ECS to York. Both then form the 0544 York to Selby with one returning to York and one going to Doncaster

Just checked details the Northbound ECS starts at Knaresborough at 1838 after working from Leeds
