HI there please contact CR on 08456015929 or email [email protected] for this info. Thanks
Can someone tell me when assessing potential trainee train drivers do Scotrail use the rVce test?
Many thanks.
No, They do not currently use this test as part of the recruitment process.
ScotRail use both MT4.1 & 4.2 and I think it's just what they've got scheduled to use for that assessment day. I had 4.1 when I did my assessments last year for FSR
Thanks for this guys, I wonder could someone explain the difference between 4.1 and 4.2? I have Barrons mechanical aptitude and spatial relations should that cover both these assessments?
Cheers.
Completed and passed the the DBS Assessment recently. Word of warning though - the Mechanical Aptitude test is quite different to the examples in the Barrons book.
I bought Barrons book and whilst very good at Levers and Pulleys etc etc, the actual test was a little more lateral shall we say.
I'm an engineer by trade and found the test harder than expected. You have to have a good awareness (I would say spatial) of the way mechanisms operate.
If you are reasonably ok with puzzles and have an OK understanding of mechanisms then you should be ok.
Do still read and practice the Barrons examples as they do help somewhat...I'm not trying to scare you as the test is certainly passable by the average person with a little nounce.
And lastly....good luck.
