I was reading a travel book about London, and I noticed that Hamleys sells model London Tube carriages and Eurostar carriages. Do they have any other model carriages?

You would be better off by checking out other firms, such as Modelzone, Hattons, Rails of Sheffield, Janes Trains, Model Railway Loft. You can just Google them.

When I was younger, I remember Hamleys having a great model railway section - though that may be my memory playing tricks. This was about 10-15 years ago - I suppose times change.

Definetely the memory not playing tricks, I remember blowing the majority of my spending money whilst on a London weekend with school.

Don't know about now, but five or so years ago you had the top floor for Scalextric and railway stuff amongst a few other things. It was all RRP though.

I have great memories of being in Hamleys when I was 9 in 1975. They seemed to have a huge section for model railways, but I suppose I must have been a bit smaller then so everything appeared much bigger!

You're right, you would definitely have been smaller when you were 9.

I did have a look at the Railway part of Hamleys last year. There was not a huge section. I Guess kids like other things now.

They had a very wide range last time I went, but at top prices! all I got was a couple of buildings I think it was from the Skaledale range

I dunno if it's just because it's in London but everything I saw in Hamleys seemed to be above RRP, especially the Lego. They seemed to have a good range of trains, including a wooden section that wasn't just Brio, but nothing particularly special.
