20905 parked on the back fence with 'in lancaster' fleetnames, all 18 E400s in the yard with PX12 DNV being towed in after breaking down the previous night.

33173 at Carlisle for same reason.

Due to the heat buses all over in Carlisle last few days.

34714 on 60s today with 34698 on 76.

22610 has been repainted and will be back at Lillyhall tommorow. 20547 is the last B10M from Olympic reserve to be treated and has been replaced by 20544 at Carlisle. 33076 is under prep at mo.

34218 has went to Chorley.

17017 back on the road.

20547 will probs end up back at Me after repaint as its on loan to CE.

Buses in Penrith a bit haphazard today.
all X4/X5s this afternoon were running a good 20 minutes late
61reg Enviro 27766 was on the full X4, I'm sure the 61 reg ones are slightly shorter than the 08 reg's

I ended up taking a ride on 17017 on the saturday market route in Penrith and I regret to inform you all it sounded in good condition, no joke! saying that, couldn't ask for a much easier route to be honest.

As a matter of interest, does the said bus go back to the manufacturer to receive a new gearbox or do they replace the vehicle with another off the production line until repairs can take place?

---
I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?zeh53e

They may send out their engineer to fix a fault. So ADL could bring down a new gearbox and use the garages at ME to replace it. Not sure though!

47055 landed at CE for repaint. Had been vor for a while earlier.

34692 used on the 300 Friday gone to cover for a late Scania from Lillyhall. 34700 replaced Greenhouse 52626 on the 685 on same day.

I remember getting 47022 back from Buttermere last summer and I actually thought it was going to explode on the honister pass it was that bad..
did something replace it?

It would not have been replaced as there is nothing to replace it. 47721 is away being fixed at MAN.

The Tridents on the 78 continue to have problems hence 16329 being out.

They should have sent a DNO out just for the fun of it. A short Dart has done most of the route before, a couple of years back 33076 spent the day on 77's, after the key went missing for 42672, when one of the Solo's had an oil piston explode at a few weeks old. If I remember correctly, it done Keswick - Portinscale - Whinlatter - Buttermere - Seatoller - Grange Bridge, then followed 78 route back into Keswick.
Its a shame 42672 didn't stick about for a bit as a spare, it had been repainted and refurbished to be the spare bus again, but 47022 became available. Could do with having 47474 out, but never mind.

In my opinion 47474 would be a much better option than 47022, much newer, its no bigger and according to a lot of people it seems to be a very good bus, It will be good to see it in action on the 77 this summer(well maybe not but better than 47022) :D

47022 is far from ideal. What would be grand is if another slimline solo could be sourced from somewhere. Not a new one but a second hand one as it were. I believe there are some down South and the routes they are used on do not require slimlines.

In any case having a spare is all well and good but only if it works haha.

I might be wrong but I'm sure 47753/4 currently based at lilyhall are both smaller than 47022, I don't know what sort of condition they are in but I wonder if any of them would be better suited.. 47022 is fine on routes like 69, 66, short 685 but 4 circles on the Buttermere route in 1 day is gonna knacker it, If any of the 2 slim lines have any serious problems and are off for like a week or more that'll be the end of 47022

47753/54 are the same size as 47022. Preston Bus (original home of 47753/54) have never purchased slimline Solos or short length Solos.

They're just as useless as 47022 as well. Their cooling fans haven't been roaring away much recently, but they're still just as slow and whiney.

On a side note, BA's Millom town services passed to Travellers Choice today, along with a few journeys on the 7.
Preston's 74 passes to Cumfybus next week.

Family Open Day - Workington Depot

Saturday June 2nd 2012 10am to 4pm
Stagecoach Bus Depot, Blackwood Road, Lillyhall Industrial Estate, Workington, CA14 4JW

The 2012 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire Family Open Day and Rally will be held at our West Cumbria depot in Workington.
We are celebrating 100 years of Cumberland Motor Services, originally founded at Whitehaven Motor Services in 1912.

Come and see behind the scenes at a bus station and witness a display of buses past and present. We have a host of attractions during the day with many transport related stalls. Although aimed at the enthusiast, there will be something for all to enjoy. Refreshment stalls are available for a range of ice creams, hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Throughout the day there are members of our staff on hand to offer any assistance you may need. These people are easily recognisable by the green Stagecoach sweatshirts they are wearing.

There is a FREE shuttle service operating every 30 minutes from Workington Bus Station and FREE entry on arrival

So why not come along on the 2nd June, for a GREAT DAY OUT!

16337/16338 both on the Newton Rigg 104's today!!! wheres the tridents??
guessing 17017 is having problems... again

34700 came into carlisle with ''38 Blackwell'' on the front have the 38 and the 66 become one route?

38/66 merged a good 3 or 4 weeks back.

Love how you all go on about 17017 being bad (Which it is) but 18357 is not much better!

16447 spent the afternoon on the 2a and was still on at about 7 this evening. Still not had a ride on this one, need to grab it before it leaves!

With all these tendered routes changing hands I would imagine there will be a few movements shortly, will be interesting to see what goes where etc.

Well, the cessation of tendered routes thanks to the Governments cuts are continuing apace. I wonder if anybody will take these routes on? I hope so, as the 347 is very handy for me as my daughters catch it to come and see me - saves me a fair bit of petrol!
