Question is in the title really, ive got 2 at home (1 £20 and 1 £10) and need to use them for a journey, would be cheaper for me if i could use both in 1 go - but i was wondering if i would only be allowed to use 1.

Thanks

I've used more than one voucher against one ticket on several occasions.

( Just to clarify: that is not repeated use of the same voucher! )

I've seen people use three or four before now. Much better to get them in small denominations. Talking of which, I have one for £20, do I have to use it all in one go, or is there a way of using it for two separate journeys?

Yes, it's no different to using multiple notes or multiple coins really.

(The only difference is that you won't get change!)

You must use the value in a single transaction, but that can be multiple tickets as long as you buy them in the one transaction. So you could buy three CDRs from Harpenden to Bedford for use on three named future dates (paying the additional £8.50 by some other method).

More than one voucher!

You should see the look on the face of the guy in the ticket office when I go in to buy my season ticket, and I am clutching a stack of vouchers that FCC have sent me due to their wonderful service.

I felt really sorry for the woman when I went in with about £290 worth of vouchers from FCC in denominations on £3.33, £3.34, £6.73, and £6.74 the other week. She said she was going to bring it up with management to at least round them up to the nearest £0.10 to make it easier!

If you have an Oyster card and can visit an Underground ticket office then you can top-up your PAYG balance.

Many years ago I was queuing at Wolverhampton. The passenger in front of me was paying for a ticket worth £15. He used one pound vouchers which he filled in at the ticket office window one at a time.

Neither the clerk nor the people iwaiting behind him were very pleased.

Even if they are filled in before you go to the ticket office the clerk now has to enter each voucher number in to the computer before he/she can issue the ticket which can take a minute or so for one voucher. I would hope once they have entered in one voucher they are on the right screen to enter in a second, meaning subsequent ones are quicker.

How long ago was this? If it was after the change where we now have to enter the number of each voucher into the system then I can see this particular transaction taking about 2 shifts .

Some TIS equipment (e.g. the TIS used at Ashford Intl) allows the travel vouchers to be scanned in on a barcode reader.

Cheers, I may well do that although I might also act on Island's suggestion as I hadn't thought of doing that either.

About 2 months ago now. At my local FCC station they add them all up on a calculator and put them through as a warrant or cash depending on who you get - this happens all the time, not just in this one experience. But, at the EM office at St Pancras they type in all the numbers manually.

Do LUL offices accept them? I thought it would have to be an NR station with full Oyster facilities, such as Lewisham.

Yes they do, by the book - I have used them at Newbury Park before, so they do know about them

They do, although they are not guaranteed to know how to do it. My most recent experience was at Elephant & Castle. Credit to the staff there, they rang up a few places and eventually found out how to do it after about 15 minutes.
