Are there any weird runnings, like the early morning Met over the Watford North Curve?

One day I was working that Chesham-Watford run (it used to be the arres end of a night turn) in the morning and a colleague just dashed on board at Ricky being late to get to Neasden for an early turn.... tee hee hee I thought as he got off at Croxley shouting expletives towards me.

There were (not sure if there still are) a few Circle workings that would go round to Barking or Hammersmith. For 'merriment' I would change the blind a little early so that I would be going West at Victoria with Barking (which was where the train was going) as a destination or Hammersmith going East. Such things are no longer allowed - no jolliment on the job these days.
Other one off workings were a Sunday night Picc reverser at West Kensington and a Bakerloo that would reverse at Kilburn High Road (though the KHR move was ECS).
There are a number of RR (Runs if Required or Rusty Railers) though you would need to consult the working timetables and as the RR indicates, they don't always necessarily operate.

I forgot they totally changed the Circle... and Hot & Cold ! - still think putting Barking up on the O/R at Victoria would be frowned upon though even if that is where the train is going.

Thanks, but the only LUL thing I could find on there (apart from Olympia) is:

Northumberland Park Depot (Staff Platform or Cleaning Shed) - Seven Sisters [London Underground]
[notes: Accessible only to or from Seven Sisters platforms 4 and 5. Northumberland Park Depot not accessible to the public]
Some Victoria Line public trains starting / terminating at Seven Sisters (at approx. 20 or 30 min intervals except during SSuX peak hours) work as unadvertised staff trains from / to Northumberland Park.

But that's not available to non staff.

There isn't much opportunity for odd service pattern on the Underground as the routes are all quite linear.

Anything that does do something odd is likely to run out of passenger use. (For instance, I think there are some stock transfers from the sub surface depots to Neasden, certainly there are a couple of paths available. That may be an S stock related thing.)

That's really interesting Mutant! Thanks. The Bakerloo reverse sounds interesting, when is that? (And what's an ECS?).

I'd love to discover some RRs - but I don't understand the working timetables! Can someone help me out, or give me a few interesting examples please! Huge thanks.

There is a booked daily train which travels from Rickmansworth via the SouthBound Mainline into Platform 2 at Harrow-on-the-Hill, and reverses South to North via 95pts back onto the Northbound Main to Rickmansworth. There is also a booked Northwood shunt, southbound into the sidings and back out onto the north.

Which seldom seems to run, as illustrated on the occasion I insisted it did, and the SB-NB crossover duly failed behind me after I left the siding!

The North Curve can be sampled in the Watford-Rickmansworth direction at a slightly more sociable hour in the current timetable, namely T401 2052 Watford - 2100 Rickmansworth (train terminates at Ricky and stables on 23 road).

There is an Underground PSUL page here but it has not been updated for some time. It gives an idea of what timetable quirks exist but train numbers and times will have changed.

Indeed, it is often cancelled at the request of the Harrow Signaller. It tends not to be cancelled 3 days on the trot, and has to run at least once a week.

Basically it's a difficult move as Northwood is right up the other end of the frame to all of the Harrow levers, and very quickly you can be focused on moves at Harrow and get trains stacking up at Northwood - plus the fact, despite only being one station away, you can't see trains in Moor Park platform when operating Northwood Panel - and there isn't even a radio at that end..
