Hi all it appears that from beginning of August there are two additional Glasgow - Euston services departing Glasgow at 15:40pm and 17:30pm I assume they will be worked by Pendolinos and that the Euston-Lancaster services will be extended to Glasgow in order to work them back

That's handy. Shame the 17:30 isn't one of their fast services - it would be a plane-beater if it arrived into London at 21:53.

So which are the northbound services?

The whole Virgin timetable has changes to & from Glasgow at the start of July.

I'll sift through the timetable a compile a list of the changes.

Thanks Sonic that would be really appreciated - AFAIK the 11:30am and 13:33pm Euston - Lancaster trains will be extended to Glasgow and then work the 15:40pm and 17:30pm Glasgow - Euston respectively

I assume you meant the 1030 and 1230? As unless I'm much mistaken the services you mentioned have always been through to Glasgow...

Sadly no train that takes over 4 hours is going to compete with a flights to 4 airports in the London Area.
The train is handy for tourists and leisure travellers heading to Central london.
For most people based in the South east and the majority of business traffic its a dead duck.

And would get there after their return workings were due to leave?

:)

[One of my colleagues once balanced up some Bristol - Birmingham trips on pre-New Year reliefs - in the days when such things existed! - before getting the exact timings. Turned out they didn't work. Muggins was in on the 27th December to field the irate phone calls !]
