Things are finally happening, 15700 has finally had the big brother advert changed and a certain trident is going for repaint this week and i dont think its been done since we had all the S regs in one depot(yes before 5 got converted to OT).

Better be 17023!

They should have sent a DNO out just for the fun of it. A short Dart has done most of the route before, a couple of years back 33076 spent the day on 77's, after the key went missing for 42672, when one of the Solo's had an oil piston explode at a few weeks old. If I remember correctly, it done Keswick - Portinscale - Whinlatter - Buttermere - Seatoller - Grange Bridge, then followed 78 route back into Keswick.
Its a shame 42672 didn't stick about for a bit as a spare, it had been repainted and refurbished to be the spare bus again, but 47022 became available. Could do with having 47474 out, but never mind.

A Mini Pointer was used yesterday after problems with 47022. Not sure how long it stayed out for.

ouch!!! bet that caused a few problems..
what's stopping them using 47474 on the 77? Its much better than a mini dart

47474 isn't in use, wish it was though!
20902 replaced a failed Scania late this afternoon on 300. 20923 out on 30/31, 22595 Sellafield. Only other "out of place" thing really was 16667 on short 302's, before being replaced by 20910, I assume 16667 went onto school work.

22610 noted back in service today after its repaint, looking very smart - although missing its white 'moustache' swoop above bumper.

After popping down on Staff Shuttles for a nice change, LL trainer 52268 then later appeared to be on Private Hire this afternoon, after dropping off passengers in the bus station.

Not been done since it arrived, has it? Most of the others got repainted when they lost the route branding for the 2/2a, but 17023 (and possibly another) never had it, i think.

Must be about mid-2003 they arrived?

I believe the usual paint cycle is once every 3 or 5 years by which I mean a vehicle is painted every 3 or 5 years. I would be very surprised indeed if 17023 had not been painted since 2003 as that was nearly a decade ago! I think what Jonesy meant was 17023 has not been painted since the S regs left for OT conversion which I think was 2008?

By this logic every Versa at ME should be up for paint soon as they have been with us nearly 5 years.

I'm sure somebody has a better idea then me!

17023 was the second to last one to get a second repaint out of the 2/2A branding on the top panels before they went to baylink branding on the bottom panels(some never got it), 17013 was the last one then a few months after that it went for OT conversion!!!
So possible 2008/9ish before ME got the ex-manchester tridents.

why isnt it in Penrith?
is 17017 off the road again?

17017 and 18357 do spend time at Carlisle, when they have been VOR for what ever reason it is not unusual to see them on Carlisle routes as it is not always possible to get them back to Penrith.

As it happend 18357 was switched over and went back to Penrith. 17017 is currently on the pit.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
47330 has been repainted at Carlisle. 47055 should be out Monday.

There is nothing else here for paint prep etc. The main stream of Olympic buses have now been complete.

Wrecker 97010 is under repaint at present.

33076 and 20547 have both been completed.

Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose anybody on this forum kept a record of where all the K/DAO B10Ms went after leaving Stagecoach? Or where they are now?

Any help would be appreciated.

Another open day been and gone.
10028 up from Morecambe, 14245 and 22121 (with vinyls getting quite tatty) from Kendal, 34702 from Carlisle, and naturally Lillyhall's own 22609.
A surprise visitor came in the way of Aberdeen's bendy Interurban 51063, which done a few shuttle runs down into Workington, which surprised a lot of residents seeing a bendy coach driving through Workington!

35246 is engineless on the pits, after going bang on 300. 17246 fully repainted, not had a ramp fitted yet, and is waiting to have LED's fitted. It is now a 68 seater. 22140 has had its bike racks removed, with the lower area seats refitted.
"Death Row" comprised of 47616, 16733 (leaning quite a bit, looks like not moved for a while), 52268, 40028, 16708, 16397, 20133, 20965, 20545, 33162 and the stored Routemaster.
52628 parked up with the withdrawn vehicles on drivers car park area. 47018 up from Kendal for MOT, parked in a dead lane.

Non-Stagecoach vehicles were Bristol VR PHH 149W (ex 15731), Leyland Nationals WHH 556S (Lillyhall built), KHH 378W (Cumberland), TXJ 507K (SELNEC), XCW 995R (Fishwicks), OFV 620X (Fishwicks) and OJD 868R (Chase livery), Barrow Transport Groups 170 and 2 Talbot's, Lodekka 109 DRM, Irish Flexibus IBZ 3051, Routemaster RCL2223, and Plaxton Supreme DYW 184V. There could have been a few other things, can't remember.

Quite the bus, hopefully you got a ride on it! Was certainly one of the eye-candy's for visitors.
Openday was, okay. Lacking in buses from other depots, suppose understandable with Olympic moves etc. Would have been nice to have more up though - but what was there was interesting to see, especially 51063!

End of the day seen a nostalgic gathering of Leyland Nationals at the event on show for a photoshoot outside the old Leyland factory of Workington. Nice way to end the day for those who stuck around! :)

K746DAO is with Coopers in Northumberland too for anyone interested. The aim is to get them all the surving ones...

Not all withdrawn in the compund. 16714 was there which has a typical Busways leak in the cab and down he stairs etc. There was a couple of the Preston Olympians and another LTN there too off memory as well as 20913. 47019 also there.

47021 should now be at Kendal for prep along with the last London Trident for the 599 which will see the end of 16393.

34687 is now carrying Citi branding once again due to a advert being removed.

I am thinking of going up to the Lake District on the Saturdays Only X8 Chorley to Keswick service.

Is the service operated by buses based at Chorley or Preston?

With new buses going south for the Olympics & others being moved around, what is likely to be used?

I believe Preston operate the service and use either a 2004 or a 2005 Trident. I am not aware of any plans for these to move in relation to the Games so I would assume that they will use said Tridents again this year :)

The last time I saw it I believe it was in the hands of 18374 as seen here:

I hope it doesn't produce an R Reg clapped out Oly.

I would be quite happy with 18374.
http://tapatalk.com/map.php?4bvfb0

There shouldn't be any Oly's at all to go on it. All of Preston's were withdrawn, and I'd imagine 16651 has moved back over to Chorley by now.
16642, 16647 and 16776 were last seen parked up in Carlisle, 16645 is parked up at Lillyhall with new flooring and brand new high back seats fitted.

18374 certainly was the main one last year, but the PX54's got on a few times too. This year could see some of the other ex Kendal ones that still had tacho's. I suppose if they feel very generous, 2 of the 56 plate E400's used to/still have tacho's fitted (they got on a few times a couple of years ago, along with 15466 and the old Joncks).
