08:21, 12:21 And 18:21 off Queen St are splitters on a Sat.
In addition there's a 10:37 Oban only on a Sat.
The 11:30, 15:30 and 21:31 arrivals at QSt are 'joiners'
Plus there's a 19:20 arrival from Oban only.

You can tell if you're on a joiner or splitter about 10 mins before Crianlarich, when some people start feverishly playing with fag packets and look like they are ready to fling themselves out of their seats at the first squeal of a brake.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I knew that some services didn't split but ran separately, this, as I'm now aware, is M-F only though.

I'm heading to Mallaig on Saturday and was hoping that the Oban & Mallaig portions were running as separate trains so I could get off at Tyndrum (Lwr) and walk to Tyndrum (Upp) to pick up the Mallaig. Not to be for this trip - will have to do it again midweek sometime.

Doing a "Grand Circle" journey this w/e:-

Edinburgh - Glasgow - Mallaig - Armadale - Broadford - Kyle of Lochalsh - Plocton (Overnight) - Inverness - Edinburgh.

Should be good - lots of travelling but great scenery - just hope we get the weather??

Thanks again for replies,

Cheers

You still have 8 minutes!!! Take your spare Olympic Torch with you and you might just do it.

Now if the Mallaig left before the Oban I might give it ago (Obviously my ultimate destination would need to be on the Oban branch for this one). Having gravity on your side always helps.

Cheers
