So I was at Richmond (London) and I came across these posters...

There was a thread about this a little while a go, there were a few more posters on it.

But, I can't find it :(

I briefly saw these a few weeks ago. I was particularly amused by the sliding doors poster... perhaps someone should do a spoof for Gatwick Airport: "Your 442 will have sliding doors which open and close at the push of a button, but if you do choose to open them, they may fall off...".

Delighted they're still there, spotted them a few months ago. Really hope they are preserved to be honest!

Love the idea that Winnersh Triangle would make an exciting excursion!

The fare dodging one is remarkably similar to some of SWT's "pay the fare... It's cheaper than the fines" posters.

i wonder if there are some people who'd see the one saying "Winnersh triangle is expected to be open in May 1986" and think "it's still not completed yet? And I thought Crossrail was running late..."
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
the sliding doors one even pre-dates NSE, it must date from about 1982 when the 455s were first introduced.

They've been there on display for quite a while now, there were some on platform one before they were painted over. If you look carefully behind the photo booth next to the dry cleaners at Richmond you'll notice the remains of an old BR steam era timetable poster. It's incredible that relics like this still survive, it'll be a sad day when they are finally painted over and lost forever. I've got some photos on my phone of some of them, I'll see if I can upload and post them if I get a moment at work. :)

Nice to see old posters when the railway was supposed to be good (many years before I was born!) I like seeing posters from the 80's about new stations opening

That was me started that one. Here you go.

I was at Richmond a fortnight or so ago and was surprised to see them still there - I thought they would only be visible for as long as the redecoration work that uncovered them went on.

Poster fans should get to Stoneleigh asap - there's an old edition of Network News announcing the service entry of the 321s and the introduction of the IoW 1938 Stock ( as "new trains" ) recently been revealed on the up side of the platform building.

i wonder how they promoted them; (the 321s I mean); "the New trains will bring improved standards of Comfort for Commuters" ....

Some were briefly on display at Surbiton as well but they are gone already. They were more decayed than the Richmond ones though.

Looks like the posters are being framed - see attached image.
