(1) Besides "2T" (00:00-04:15 departures excluded), what other restriction codes offer generous interpretations of "off-peak" times?

(2) Does anyone have a list of flows that use these restriction codes? I'm currently aware of LIV to/from stations from NMP to ATH, and NUN-BON, all using 2T.

Edited to add answers to (1)...

NUN-BON takes 2R (after 9.00)

Many medium-distance and long-distance flows away from the major cities have Off-Peak fares valid at (almost) any time, as there is traditionally* no peak. The existence of the 2T-type restrictions allows an inflated Anytime fare to be charged as a sort of penalty to those who travel on the wrong train on an Advance or who do not purchase before boarding where appropriate.

You're right. There was one I took in the the past 6 months. Thought it was Bolton, but obviously not. Let me check...

...Found it. It was NUN-BBN - Blackburn.

I'll add those to the OP. Also added others I've found.

Just need a way of searching the fares database by restriction code now ...

I'd say that VY looks pretty bad as far as restrictions go for Off peak if they tie you to a specific train on the outbound

not knowing specific codes, but peak time in Cornwall is a very narrow time space, of about 2 services in each direction I believe!

So how do the following combinations differ from each other
B5, BL, I5

B7, I7, M8

B6, I6, M1

B8, I8, N4

B4, G4, I4, L9

Also, 8D, is that a National Express fare that's wandered in?

<D Sky high Anytime fares are making PRIV discounts pointless on many long distance flows (esp. compared with Advance public fares) - time the PRIV was valid with SVR tickets ?

It's a bit of a mess really isn't it?

Although I'd disagree with the OP that a flow restricted 'before 9' is "nearly unrestricted" - it's clearly not if you have to travel to work for between 8 and 9 every day, as many people do! Furthermore, is that not what we would expect a peak/off-peak distinction to be for?

I'd say those with restrictions before 07:00 fit much better into that category of 'nearly unrestricted'.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Taking 07:00 as a cut off would create a much smaller list:

2T – Not before 04:15 M-F
2U – Not before 04:15 M-F, no break on outbound
3K – Dublin ticket via ferry, no break outbound & return
4C – No break on outbound
6C – Train ticket + Stena Line, break allowed on rail portion

8A – No break on outbound

BR – Any EC train to U12 London M-F
BT – Not before 04:30
C2 – No outbound before 07:00 M-F
C6 – No outbound before 05:00 M-F
PN – Any train

I'd potentially include those tickets for which the restriction ends between 07:00 and 07:30, but any later will cut out a significant proportion of commuters, which is presumably the intention.

The solution to that is to use split ticketing or if you're brave enough, creative ticketing. When I was doing long distance commutes on EMT, my use of creative ticketing meant that the Priv fare I was paying was even cheaper than the cheapest possible railcard discounted Advance fare :p.
