I'm allowed to buy an Off Peak Day Return or a One Day Travelcard for a weekday High Wycombe(HWY) - South Ruislip (SRU) journey on the 0748 from HWY to West Ruislip [WRU] ( terminates there) with an onward connection by LU to South Ruislip. There is no other weekday pre 0930 train for which I can buy these two ticket types. A couple of questions arise. Is the only reason I can purchase a CDR / OD Travelcard being that the train terminates at WRU ( and not Marylebone) and secondly if I am being sold a OD Travelcard can I continue the journey from WRU to Central London (pre 0930) by LU or will separate Undergound restrictions apply ?

Whereas Trainline limits me to the 0748, Red Spotted allows me to buy the CDR on most trains departing HWY pre 0930 bar one or two exceptions ?????

PS: I don't but tickets from Trainline ;)

The £9.80 Off-Peak Day Return High Wycombe - West Ruislip has Validity Code CH. The relevant part is:
JOURNEYS TO/VIA LONDON MARYLEBONE

Outward Travel
By any train except those timed to arrive at London terminals before 10:05 Mondays to Fridays.
The 0720 Aylesbury to West Ruislip (0748 from High Wycombe) does not "arrive at London terminals" at all, so travel is allowed by this train.

Similar logic applies to the £19.50 Off-Peak Day Travelcard High Wycombe - London Zones 1-6, which also has Validity Code CH.

Agreed but if the OP bought a Travelcard, my own opinion is that even though it carries the same restriction, travel on LU from South Ruslip would have to be after 0930.
