I live in Leeds.

If I wanted to get a trip either from Bradford to Doncaster or vice versa with Grand Central, what would be the cheapest way to do it?

Happy to do a circuit Leeds - Donny - Bradford - Leeds (or vv), or go to Donny or Bradford and do a return trip.

Don't want to be hanging around for hours anywhere!

Just got a bit of time on my hands and fancy a day out with a go on a GC 180!

It's hard to know the cheapest way due to the variety of possible options.

An adult Train DayRover will cost you £6.20 and covers all of the areas in green on this map. You'll then need a Wakefield to Doncaster return to use Grand Central - that is £8.70.

If you are travelling on a weekday, Grand Central trains go via Pontefract. You could use the Train DayRanger to get there, giving you over an hour on the Grand Central train. On a weekend, the trains do not go via Pontefract - you could get to Wakefield on GC using the DayRanger, giving about 45 minutes on GC.

If travelling without long waiting times and at low cost is your priority, then this itinerary:
0953 Leeds - Bradford Int 1012
1022 Bradford Int - Doncaster 1207
1224 Doncaster - Bradford Int 1355
1405 Bradford Int - Leeds 1427
is available on weekdays with:
WY Metro Adult Train Day Rover £6.20 (no Railcard discount, half price for WY concessionary pass holders)
Wakefield Stns - Doncaster Anytime Day Return (SDS) £8.70
Total £14.90
If saving money is a priority then this itinerary:
0953 Leeds - Bradford Int 1012
1022 Bradford Int - Pontefract Mnkhl 1133
1249 Pontefract Mnkhl - Bradford Int 1355
1405 Bradford Int - Leeds 1427
is valid with the £6.20 WY Metro Adult Train Day Rover and allows time for a pub lunch in Pontefract.

Liking the look of that Brad - Donny one! What are refreshments like on board GC. Are they available between Brad and Donny and vice versa?

Thank you for the advice :D

Thankfully they will be rerouted back via Pontefract at weekends from 15 September. I am planning to ride one from Bradford Interchange or Halifax to Pontefract once the class 180s have been refreshed.
