Does anyone know which 57 is working the Pendolino drag tomorrow? I am hoping for one of the ATW ones (57314/15).
Thanks in advance, Adam :D

Hi, it is booked as 57308 :)

Thank you very much :D
That is a Virgin livered machine unless I am mistaken, so will look very smart with the pendo. How did you find out?

Not a bad price at all!
Having said that, I managed to get Bangor to Sudbury (Suffolk) standard class for £12.20 (with a railcard) for my trip tomorrow!

Now that is a good price!!!!!! How far in advance did you have to book???

Well the pendo unit is 390034, however they are having trouble fitting the loco at the moment and fitters have been called!!!!!!! Already 18 mins late as Ive posted this, not left Crewe yet!!!!!!

The problem is that the brakes are stuck on!!!!!!!!

IM afraid the 57 will not be running today, as it stands your train will be 221115!!!!! Really sorry to give you the bad news!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes, my blood ran cold when I heard the announcement "Coaches A, B, C and D are standard class, coach E is first class" at Bangor. I was praying that the Bangor announcer was wrong when coming out of the tunnel I see the railway equivalent of Satan's grinning face. The front of a Voyager. I chatted to the guy running the buffet, a lovely chap called Gordon who told me about the pendo refusing to couple and doing a full emergency brake application. We did a set swap at Crewe (even the catering staff) back onto 390034 (I assume it was as it's couplers were in the "tackle out" position ;)) and completed the run back to London (on time!) on that. Thanks for the info :)

I booked that ticket 6 weeks in advance, but sometimes they are available until 2 weeks in advance. A good trick if you want to get to last wales, go on the last train (that terminates at Holyhead at 0215 and put in "via Warrington" as a restriction, and I have gotten a ticket SUY-BNG on that route for £12.20 5 days before they day of travel before, although I think they are rarer now.
